Rock Star Guide to the Galaxy: Joris Voorn, Amsterdam

JorisVoorn In this installment of Rockstar Guide to the Galaxy: Amsterdam, we meet up with Dutch techno producer Joris Voorn at Amsterdam's underground (but rapidly surfacing) club Trouw, where he and label partner Edwin Oosterwal hold their monthly Rejected parties. Watch the video for a guided tour of Joris' favorite spots in town, including a newly repurposed 20,000 square-meter shipping warehouse, a bohemian cafe a short ferry ride out of the city center, and, of course, his own home studio.

Here's Joris' complete list of places to visit in Amsterdam:

290 Square Meters: Great fashion store with lots of cool brands and gadgets

De Bakkerswinkel: Great Organic Breakfast/Lunch place

Minibar: Very Original bar in the center of Amsterdam

N.D.S.M. Werf: A gigantic old ship warehouse with artist studios and a huge skatepark.

Cafe Noorderlicht : A very nice hippie-esque small restaurant on the water near the N.D.S.M.

Public Library: Brand new library in an amazing building, a very special place.

Droog Design Shop: The flagship store of Dutch design brand no.1 is Amsterdam.

Soup En Zo: Great neighborhood spot for soup and salads.

Vondelpark: Amsterdam's central park, always full of action on summer days.

Botanical gardens: Maybe not the hippest place, but a tropical oasis with amazing plants just a few minutes from my house.
