We hooked up with Dutch producer Jochem Peteri (aka Newworldaquarium, Newworldromantic, Ross 154) to bring you the first in a series of artist-hosted travel videos focusing on Holland's capital city. Febo: Worst snackbar on the planet, still everyone's fave. Food from a hatchet in the wall - it's a guilty pleasure and very Dutch. Extreme cuisine.
Noordzuidlijn: The new subway. If anything is defining Amsterdam in 2010 (actually from 2007 - 2020?) it's this monster. There are underground exposition spaces.
Rush Hour Recordshop : Best shop in town.
De Bierkoning: Again best shop in town. Oh wait, last couple of years they were best shop in the world according to ratebeer.com. I believe them :)
Brouwerij Het IJ : Local brewery with an awesome windmill on the side. Lethal beer, big tip :)
Roopram: Surinam food. Stand in line out in the street, all the way through the restaurant for the best roti in town. Very Dutch.
Maesomjaj : Thai take-away. Just the cutest little place, and somehow Thai food has become something very Dutch. And this place just rocks.
Vondelpark: - What can i say, its a classic.
Trouw :Club. We have our night at friday with some big names
Hartenstraat : Best shopping street
Tuinstraat : Best street for bars restaurants and icecream in the middle of the famous Jordaan area
Nieuwmarkt: Best terraces, best square. They used to hang people here in the middle ages
Pont naar Noord :The ferry to the other side of town (North), free and very ghetto. Without a car this is about the only way to reach the other side...
Poezenboot: Houseboat with cat-asylum in the canals
De Goudfazant: Awesome restaurant in the northside of town.
Macbike: Rent your bike here.
Chinatown/Zeedijk: where dragqueens meet the triads :)
