There’s something irresistible about two middle-age, over-the-hill pop superstars quibbling about a nearly decade-old affair. The feud began in 2001 when the two had a short-lived affair, the extent of which remains a point of disagreement to this day. Regardless of whether it was a fleeting kiss (as Mariah has posited) or a torrid affair (as Eminem insists), it soon took on a life of its own when Eminem made the affair public in a Rolling Stone interview, stating that though Mariah was a “beautiful woman,” she “didn’t have it all together.” Mariah retaliated later that year with the thinly veiled diss track “Clown.” During an appearance on Larry King: “I hung out with him, I spoke to him on the phone. I think I was probably with him a total of four times. And I don’t consider that dating somebody.” Eminem then got his revenge at the 2003 MTV Movie Awards when he took a swipe at Mariah’s ill-fated movie Glitter. After that incident, the dispute remained relatively quiet for a couple of years until 2005 when Eminem aired what was supposedly voice mails from Mariah Carey asking Em to leave his wife for her. Mariah denied that it was her, and even threatened defamation charges.
And then, Eminem disappeared for a few years, lost in a haze of drugs, but when he returned in 2009, so did the beef. The song “Bagpipes from Baghdad” begins with Eminem locked in Mariah’s wine cellar and asking the singer, “What happened to us?”, then takes a rather violent turn when Eminem fantasizes about cutting the object of his affection into little pieces, “like Dahmer.” Nick Cannon, Mariah’s husband, didn’t find any of this amusing, and took to his blog to respond, threatening Eminem that he was “going to make you wish you never spoke my name and regret the ungodly things you said about my wife." In a subsequent interview, Eminem wished that Nick Cannon would stop “wildin’ out.” The next salvo was fired by Mariah when she released her single “Obsessed." Carey sings on the track, “You’re delusional, boy, you’re losing your mind…It must be weed, it must be the E…Why are you so obsessed with me? Lying that you’re sexing me." Furthermore, in the video Mariah dresses up like Eminem. Though most assumed that this was a blatant retaliation, Cannon denied the song was about Eminem in an MTV interview and suggested, “My wife doesn't beef. She's Mariah Carey. She's not beefin', she's a vegetarian.”

Finally a true romantic story in the shape of cold industrialized emotions. If any of this is supposed to be true, I would say that both Mariyah and Eminem are fascinated by eachother and they avoid to admit it. So why not through songs and statements? I think all this is'nt called for. Obviously Mariah has moved on with her life she is married now. Most people are hating on her and Nick. But you'll always have haters in the world. I like Em but he keeps coming with more he could be a man and let it go. Thats so childish. Why make a song about her and he even mentioned Nick. It's things u don't do and that's one of them. If I was Mariah I'd do the same but someone does have to be the better person and let go or ignore.
